Student Ministry at South Bay Church

At South Bay Church our students (6th-12th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

Your first visit

Whether you visit our middle or high school service here’s what to expect when visiting South Bay Students for the first time.

First, we will meet your family, check your student into the system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your student to our meeting space.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask you the following personal information (NOTE: we value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent / Guardian name(s)
  • Student’s name
  • Student’s birthdate
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your student

Middle School (Fuel)

On Sunday mornings during our 10:30am service, we host ‘Fuel’ for all 6th-8th graders. This service runs parallel to our adult service at 60 minutes. During a typical middle school service you will find games, teaching, and small groups.

Meet our Middle School Director

Brenda Balogh joined the South Bay church leadership team in 2017 as the director of Middle School ministry. Brenda has a husband (Josh) two daughters (Bailey, Kimmel) and two sons (Frazier, Everett).

At Fuel Middle School we believe that all of life comes down to relationships, we build those by having fun over time” – Brenda Balogh, Director of Middle School Ministry

High School (Pursuit)

On Wednesday nights starting at 7:00pm we host ‘Pursuit’ for all 9th-12th graders. This service contains teaching and material specific to the high school age-range and will last about 90 minutes. During a typical high school service you will find live worship, teaching, small groups, and maybe even some games.

Meet our Next-Gen Pastor

Josh Balogh joined the South Bay church leadership team in 2011 as the Next-Gen Pastor, and today also leads our High School Ministry. Josh has a wife (Brenda) two daughters (Bailey, Kimmel) and two sons (Frazier, Everett).

At Pursuit High School We want you to know that no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you’ve done you have a place to belong here.” – Josh Balogh, Pastor of Student Ministry
